John Bankhead, a spokesperson for the Stone Mountain Memorial Association, said NFAC’s demonstration was peaceful and orderly:
” It’s a public park, a state park.
” We comprehend the level of sensitivities of the problem here at the park … so we appreciate that and permit them to come in as long as it’s peaceful, which it has actually been,” he said.
The park had actually just opened after being closed for virus-related problems. Around Saturday afternoon, park authorities permitted the group to enter the park from the West Gate. They marched to the yard location of the park, in view of the confederate memorial carved into granite on Stone Mountain.
” Stone Mountain has long held symbolism for white supremacists. The Ku Klux Klan, a hate group that was formed by Confederate Army veterans and has a history of lynchings and horror versus Black people, held its rebirth event atop mountain in 1915 with flaming crosses.
Klansmen still hold occasional events in the shadows of the erection, albeit now consulted with protesters behind cops tape. Much of those cross-burnings took place on or around July 4,” stated Reuters.
Readers might remember, we noted on March 29 that “the next stage of the COVID-19 pandemic might be a flare-up of social discontent throughout significant Western cities as millions have actually lost their tasks, economies have crashed into anxieties, and the military is being contacted to preserve order.”
And, young boy, were we right …
We priced estimate Peter Turchin not too long ago as saying with the coronavirus still aggravating the health and wellbeing of the nation and millions out of work, and this could certainly “escalate all the way to a civil war.”
” Things are not as bad as they can be,” Turchin cautioned.
The socio-economic implosion of America, leading to both black and white militias to go into city streets this summertime – might be the goal of the political elites to spark mayhem ahead of the election.
